Make Akiyama great again: Akiyama's Emotional Intelligence must be studied.

We already discussed Akiyama's most underrated category; foresight. But now we'll dive into a category that most people claim Akiyama is a "fodder": Emotional Quotient/Intelligence. Akiyama is underrated in this category and many others because he takes premises and determines the result, so all his feats have an insane reasoning backup, which makes people underestimate the feat and classify it as reasoning. However, I made a list of Akiyama's EQ feats that will show you how actually good he is in this category:

EU: Emotional Understanding, EP: Emotional Perception, EM: Emotional Management, EE: Emotional Engagement.

In roots of A, he completely understood the feelings of the person that wrote the letter based in the words he used and the sentencea structure, with only this information, he created the profile of the writer, which later was confirmed to be as Akiyama said. (EU, EP)

Set the goal to destroy Japan's largest MLM, responsible of his mother's suicide. (EE)

Listened up Nao's situation and gave her advice (EU, EE)

Dressed up and acted as a LGT officer to steal Fujisawa's money (EM)

Understood Fujisawa will be relieved after the clock hits the previously mentioned hour in the fake card, so he could steal the money right after (EU)

Realized the abnormal environment during the second day of the minority rule game, since most players were calmed and apparently didn't worry about losing, even tho it represents a substantial debt, with this Akiyama confirmed there were other teams (EP)

Understood player #15 would help him after the mastermind behind all teams revealed himself, this as a natural response to betrayal (EU)

Realized Yokoya's team in pandemic was in total domination based in fear, so he could use that to get traitors (EU, EP)

Understood the north traitors would stick together even after Yokoya discovers them, that as a natural emotional response of fighting against their oppressor (EU, EP)

Akiyama panicked when he saw Kikuchi got the joker several times, but he immediately calmed down and started thinking in a winning strategy (EM)

Understood Kikuchi would bet all his chips in the final rounds if Akiyama plays the role of a greedy gambler, Kikuchi will he driven by his feelings of superiority due to last rounds and lack of belief Akiyama will get a strong hand playing how he is been playing (EU, EP)

Understood if he induces fear to the enemy in the rehearsal round of Stationary Roulette by betting in wrong numbers, they will lose the same moment this happens in the main game, that means Akiyama's team can crush them if they really want (EP)

In Pandemic game, realized that after exposing Yokoya's virus outbreak players won't trust him and will put him in a precarious situation (EP)

Understood the game's flow was stucked due to player's emotions of distrust between each other, so came up with the Ushirisuki circuits lie to unblock the game (EM, EU, EP)

After tricking the players into believing he could knew the state of someone with the stick and two ropes, ignored Akagi in purpose, this because everyone knew he was an infected, so Akagi feeling he's been abandoned due to his infected state, will make the infected players to not want to take the test, this way Akiyama can deduce who are the infected players (EU, EP)

Predicted Greasy and Muscles, who got normal +4 state previously, will help Nao into locking the checking rooms if Nao insists them a lot to have contact with her group, Nao does this numerous times, both Greasy and Muscles reject her, after this Nao asks them something more small, to stay inside the rooms and not open them, Akiyama knew this was a "little" favor considering Nao was asking a "big" one before, so the feeling of guilt they felt would make them execute the last favor since it was smaller. (EU, EP)

In Musical chairs, he knew Baldly will decline his offer to join his team, Akiyama already prepared and ask four eyes the number of the chair baldy stole from him, with this Akiyama blackmails Baldly to join his team, if not they will eliminate one of his chairs from the game and ultimately make him lose, Akiyama knows after hearing this he won't decline due to a feeling of danger. (EU, EP)

Understood Yokoya's hatred towards him and Nao will be enough to team up with harimoto. (EU, EP)

Understood the Gaya's feelings of inferiority, so he came up with the idea of creating the Gaya alliance. (EU, EP)

Knew Young Jump will gladly give him the trash medals all Gaya's collected in exchange of 2 medals of each member of his team. (EU)

Realized Yokoya won't trust his team at all to do the negotiations during night time, so he ultimately will stay up all the night (EP)

Understood Gaya's will help him to block Yokoya and allow Fatso to win, this due Gaya's feelings of Yokoya is just been using them, and since most of them had Fatso's medals, they will accept Akiyama's proposition. (EU, EP)

Knew harimoto couldn't deny his spirit theory so Akiyama proposed him going to another location, this way he'll get rid off that problem (EP)

Knew Kimura and the Mikamoto will try to exchange their tablets (because it was harimoto's one) before their turn arrive to not messed up the plan and not dirty the name of Harimoto (EU, EP)

Saw through Harimoto's real intentions, he realized Harimoto's intentions are not to collaborate so all the players can get a deck, he is currently forced since he needs to pretend being this "virtuous" leader to his followers, but in reality he sees all the players of the liar game as demons, with this in mind, Akiyama knew Harimoto would break the deck-trade pact under the most minimal inconvenience, Akiyama will later take advantage of Harimoto's mentality to become the player with the most in-game money. (EU, EP)

Understood the feelings of resentment of the players in bid poker because of Kimura's abusive dominance. (EU, EP)

Knew Kimura will end up trusting kawai's words after he gives valuable and verifiable information. (EP)

Understood players will help him with the Majority rule strategy since it was their only chance of winning and the fear of ending up with more debts. (EU, EP)

Realized Human Auction will become a battle between teams to get either him or Yokoya. (EP)

In human auction, understood he had to make a risky move in order to eliminate the three most wealthy players. Akiyama had to bid for the 17 and 18 player, this because until that moment, the teams had 3 people, since they were saving their last spot to try to get Akiyama, so if Akiyama gets the player 17 and 18, three teams will end up with 3 people, this way everyone will lose the game automatically, so Akiyama had to do this risky move in order to other teams buy forcedly the #17 and #18 player, if not everyone there will lose, Akiyama knew the players there will have to surpass his offer if not everyone there will become losers, still he had the emotional management to disqualify (even momentarily) all the players there, including him. (EM, EU, EP, EE)

After the two teams bought #17 & #18, predicted the other two guys in kaneko's team will oppose Kaneko's proposal of losing on purpose due to feelings of greed, so Akiyama knew they might take her hands and steal her tablet, so Akiyama anticipated and took her tablet. After this another team bought Aki, and kaneko's team, who had enough money to pay their debts, were eliminated. (EU, EP)

After the revelation that losers will be sold to the back market, in Records of the Four Kingdoms, Akiyama had Emotional management to go for a Stalemate plan, Akiyama knew if a minimum mistake happens and the plan doesn't works, all the 12 players will be in danger, so having the guts of going for this despite the risk of ending in the black market and being subjects for experiments is worth pointing (EM, EE)

Akiyama carefully created a fake identity that will later soldify his Stalemate plan, he told Nao to say that among the players, is a rich heir. Akiyama told Nao to say exact phrases this rich son would say, and it was too convincing since Nao talked about his emotions and how this rich players wants nothing but returning to his father as the winner of the game to prove his value to him, Akiyama also told Nao to compare Yokoya with this rich player since he will deny his similarities with this rich heir, this done on purpose, since when Yokoya denies this, Nao will attack him pointing that at least this rich player wants to get out of his father's control. This means Akiyama could create and replicate real feelings, emotions and thoughts of a person that didn't even exists and at the same time exploited Yokoya's complex with his deep understanding of psychology and emotions (EU, EP)

Akiyama understood the feelings of fear and distrust between the members of Wu and Shu because the lie Akiyama the rich guy presence; if there's a rich guy, he could buy a spy in their own team, and since nobody in their team claimed to be the rich player, the possibility the spy was among them was 100%. Akiyama used this fear to tell them the perfect actions they need to do in order to not let the spy fulfill his commitment, this way he could solidify the Stalemate in the last rounds. (EP)

Once the Stalemate was achieved, he had a conversation with Yokoya, he recognized Yokoya's feelings and created an environment where he could reflect his emotions, he did it by: creating emotional closure with Yokoya, where Akiyama told him about his past and how Nao taught him again to trust in others. Highlighted Nao's role, since he told Yokoya this is the result of Nao never giving up trusting others. Minimizing his own genius, he knows if he tells Yokoya all the details of his plan he would immediately would break the Stalemate for mere ego, but Akiyama addresses Nao and this result is not because his plan was "that great", when in reality he planned everything from beginning to end. Exploited Yokoya's inferiority complex by pointing an "ordirany" girl like Nao caused all this, this is to reinforce Yokoya's sense of failure. Finally he convinces Yokoya to accept the Stalemate, since it is the reflection of Yokoya's own failure rather than Akiyama's brilliant plan, this makes Yokoya less likely to oppose the outcome. With all of this Akiyama manipulated Yokoya into accepting his defeat and not break the stalemate. (EU, EP)

Based in this, I rate Akiyama's EU as a 8/10, EP: 8.5/10, EM as a 8.8/10 & EE as a 9/10. Solidifying his EQ as a 8.5/10.

Reasoning behind the scores: Akiyama was able to to emotionally understand the feelings of numerous participants through the liar game, and also smart people like Harimoto, Kimura & Yokoya. It is specially for his rich player feat, where he creates and replicates real feelings, emotions and thoughts of a person that didn't even exists, which alone shows how good Akiyama's EU is. Emotional Perception: he actively identifies emotions due to game's flow or players circumstances. Emotional Management: Akiyama designed a risky plan that could've cost him his own life in case it failed, and still had the guts for creating a plan to save everyone. He also has the constantly managing his own emotions during extremely stressful situations that can result in him having astronomical financial debts. Emotional Engagement: Akiyama has a great emotional engagement, this displayed in his desire for destroying the MLM company that caused his mother's suicide and the goal of destroying the Liar Game company.
